Edward Saxby works as a busy oculoplastic and ophthalmic consultant surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and Nuffield Health Taunton Hospitals.

He grew up in Devon, England. He qualified in 2012 from the University of Bristol. Following foundation training, he spent a year working as a clinical fellow for the highly regarded Bristol plastic surgery department receiving training in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. 

His specialist ophthalmology training was based in the South East of Scotland, with further sub-speciality training in oculoplastics, lacrimal and orbital surgery within the prestigious Edinburgh and Cambridge ophthalmic units. 

Edward Saxby is passionate about medical education. He is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Faculty and has run both national and international courses teaching eyelid surgery around the world.

Outside work, Ed lives in Somerset with his young family. He spends his spare time in mountainous parts of the world.
